Searcys and Bath’s Historic Venues, present an informal networking event as part of International Women’s Day 2018, featuring special guest June Hannam, Professor (Emerita) of Modern British History at UWE, who has published widely on the history of women.
Join us for an evening of fizz, canapés and history at the Fashion Museum Bath, located in the stunning Georgian Assembly Rooms. As part of the evening you’ll get an exclusive viewing of the new ‘Royal Women’ exhibition, exploring the fashions worn by successive generations of women in the Royal Family.
2018 marks 100 years since the first time some women in the UK had the right to vote. Join us for a thought provoking talk, where we will take a look at how life has changed for women in the last 100 years.
June Hannam will bring to life the fascinating story of Mary Blathwayt, a suffragette who lived in Batheaston in Bath. Mary’s parasol is proudly displayed in the Fashion Museum exhibition ‘A History of Fashion in 100 Objects’ for you to see.
We look forward to welcoming you to what will be an incredibly inspiring and motivational evening.
